Support for Vietnam War

--posted by Tony Garcia on 3/15/2005

Believe it or not the young actually were more likely to support Vietnam than any other group. In May 1965 61% of the people under 30 supported the War compared to 59% of those 30-49 and 43% of those over 49.

By the end of the Gallup survey (May 1971) support was down, but the young still were more likely to support the war. 34% of those under 30, 30% of those from 30-49 and 23% of those over 49.

Support went DOWN because hundred of soldiers were being KILLED each week! If our right-wing media was actually covering the war in any relevant or serious way, we would be seeing the reality of WAR on our television screens, and support would drop. The Press Officer in the movie "Control Room" recently said that the media campaign out of Iraq in 2003 was run with the same efficiency as a Presidential campaign, i.e. massive deception and outright lies.
