State Government shut down

So, I heard on the radio that the budget negotiations broke down last night. I read here that the DFL killed the progress because they want to throw egg on Pawlenty's face.

The way it was being reported this morning was the House and Senate leaders were nearing a deal on the budget impasse. During a break where the Republicans went to dinner the DFL Senate leaders called the Senate together and then Sen Johnson moved to recess until today...causing the shutdown.

Why would they do that?
1) Because they lie when they say they care about the people. They only care about entrenching their constituencies who are all convinced by the DFL that they must remain dependent on subsidies. "That is the way of things. You are too weak and we at the DFL will take care of you. All it will cost you is your undying allegiance towards the left and the loss of your self-dignity and the ending of your self-worth."
2) They know that the media will not report the truth about the budget breakdown. Thus they know that there is a good chance to do what Pawlenty said last night. The governor said Democrats wanted a government shutdown to embarrass him in the run-up to his 2006 re-election campaign.
3) They know that the media will not focus on the real issue: the overspending that the DFL continuously engages in. It is like they are addicted to spending other people's money.

That is why they shut the government down. Make no mistake...it is the DFL who wants to steal more money from you and they will put workers out of a job to do so.
