Ramstad--enemy to bloggers

--posted by Tony Garcia on 11/03/2005

There was a vote in Congress yesterday on a bill that would exempt the internet from Federal Election Commission oversight. In essence, to vote for the bill was to vote for freedom of speech and expression.

(Disclaimer for Doug: I have NOT contacted Ramstad about this yet.)

The Minnesota delegation was somewhat disappointing.
Sabo & McCollum did not perform their duty...they did not vote.

Oberstar voted against freedom of speech...no surprise there.

Kline, Kennedy, Gutknecht, and Peterson voted for freedom of speech. No surprises there.

Also not a surprise to me is the 8th member of the MN Congressional delegation. I wonder how the elite and upper echelon of the GOP will choose to address this...if at all.

Voting AGAINST freedom of speech was the Minnesota GOP's top RINO: Jim Ramstad.

Can we run someone against him in the primaries please?

********** UPDATE **********
I have called Ramstad's office to get his official position on the bill...and justification on why he voted against the suspension of rules that would have allowed the bill to pass that day. I doubt I will receive a call back...accountability is not in the vocabulary of incumbant Congressmen.

Any conservative would be good. A challenger would at least bring him back to the right. He has not been scoring well on his pro-life, anti-tax, smaller government report cards just to name a few.
