Puckett has stroke

--posted by Tony Garcia on 3/05/2006

Kirby Puckett has suffered a stroke.
Former Minnesota Twins center fielder Kirby Puckett had a stroke at his Arizona home Sunday and was taken to a hospital for surgery, the team announced from its spring training camp.

The 44-year-old Puckett, who led Minnesota to World Series titles in 1987 and 1991 and is a member of the Hall of Fame, was taken to a Scottsdale hospital.
Waiting to see how bad the stroke was.

**********UPDATE**********
Looks like Twins great and Hall-of-Famer Kirby Puckett's condition has rapidly decreased to the point where he's only being kept alive by life support machines, and they're planning on taking him off those machines sometime tonight after his family gets to say their goodbyes.

Story here.
