The Aftermath
--posted by Tony Garcia on 6/12/2005Over the years I have come to settle on a 24 hour rule for elections. I think that 24 hours is time enough for a winning team to gloat and for a losing team to whine. There must be a post-election outlet or release for both sides to reflect on what all of the work they put in has resulted in.
In sports there is an off-season during which the winners gloat constantly. And during that time, if you're Terrell Owens, it is also the time to piss & moan and point fingers for losing.
But politics doesn't have that off-season and so the time for gloat/celebration or whine/complain must be considerably shorter.
So, with that said I have done my gloating off of the internet and will leave it at that. I will only respond to slanderous whining that occurs today. Come tomorrow morning we all need to move on. Leave the party if you will, work hard if you will, but the results are done and post-reflection in the form of gloating or whining has no place.
And for the record, Eric The Crook Hoplin will still be referred to as Eric the Crook.
