Person of the Year another terrorist?

--posted by Tony Garcia on 11/15/2005

This story has people talking about the possibility of Ma' Earth being listed as Time's (now laughable) Person of the Year. The thing that caught my eye was the list of candidates.
Nominees for Time's 2005 Person of the Year include Hurricane Katrina and its responders, President Bush, U2's Bono and terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Media bigwigs like CNN's Anderson Cooper, NBC's Brian Williams and political consultant Donna Brazile met in New York Monday to brainstorm the biggest newsmaker of 2005, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Most agreed few humans could rival the hurricane, which Williams pointed out "laid bare so many cracks and fissures in our system."

Brazile voted for the hurricane's first responders while WorldCom whistleblower and Time 2002 Person of the Year, Cynthia Cooper, proposed Gulf Coast cleanup man, Gen. Russell Honore, the newspaper said.

Bush was the magazine's choice for the second time last year.
Did you catch that? Aside from a hurricane becoming Person of the Year they are toying with al-Zarqawi as the Person of the Year.

I know Time's officials say that it is not the BEST person but the biggest newsmaker. Sorry, when someone is named Employee of the Year it is NOT because they made the biggest news in the company. It is because they were the best employee. When you name a "Person of the Year" you are implying that they are the best "person of the year".

al-Zarqawi!!

Yeah, the idea of naming a hurricane as Person of the Year just shows out of touch with reasonability the media are. al-Zarqawi (remember, they were talking about bin Laden for 2001) just emphasizes how out of touch with reality the media are. They really do not understand the nature of the beast that is the enemy of the West. If they did understand the evil we are fighting they would not toss laurels toward these animals.

Time's Person of the Year...officially, again, proven to be a bigger joke than serious.
