World Cup Schedule

The World Cup Schedule is available and the groupings have been announced.

Being an army brat I spent some time in Germany and I find it more entertaining that one of the United States preliminary matches will be played in the city I went to high school.

As far as the United States team goes they are in Group E with Italy, Czech Republic and Ghana. This is not a bad draw necessarily. The US ranking is #8. Italy is #11, Ghana is #50. The Czech team is #2, however. This is not to say that the US team will coast to one of the 2 advancing positions, but they are not in bad shape either.

The groupings are as follows:

Group B
England, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Sweden
Group C
Argentina, Côte d'Ivoire, Serbia and Montenegro, Netherlands
Group D
Mexico, Iran, Angola, Portugal
Group E
Italy, Ghana, USA, Czech Republic
Group F
Brazil, Croatia, Australia, Japan
Group G
France, Switzerland, Korea Republic, Togo
Group H
Spain, Ukraine, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia
