Tookie's history

You may have heard about Stanley Tookie Williams in recent references to the Left's pleas to Governor Schwarzenegger to grant Tookie clemency. (I have no doubt that many of these people would want Tookie freed.)

Tookie is scheduled to be executed this coming Tuesday, December 13, 2005. I am actually somewhat conflicted on the issue of capital punishment, but I would say that Tookie makes a great case in support of the death penalty.

Remember the gang infestation in Los Angeles? The Bloods & the Crips have been the root of many, many deaths murders over the past few decades. Tookie can take credit for all of that bloodshed...he co-founded the Crips.

Tookie claims, in his rehabilitated state, that he creted the Crips to "cleanse the neighborhood of all these, you know, marauding gangs". Hmm, I ain't buyin' it.

Why? Because of the details about the FIRST murder for which is was convicted, the murder of Albert Owens. Tookie, in his effort to cleanse the neighborhoods of marauding gangs, shot Owens twice in the back at close range with a shotgun. Why? To show his colleagues how to commit a robbery AND "because he was white and he was killing all white people." (source: About.com which used Trial Transcripts)

Remorse? Nope.

Later that same day, Williams bragged to his brother Wayne about killing Owens. Williams said, "you should have heard the way he sounded when I shot him." Williams then made gurgling or growling noises and laughed hysterically about Owens' death. (T[rial] T[ranscripts] 2195-2197).

Oh, and the net from that robbery...$30 per person at the robbery, $120 total.

11 days later he killed 3 more people, "Buddha-heads" as Tookie described them to his friends. The details are horrid.

What do you think? Should Tookie be granted any leniency?
