For more about Eric The Crook Hoplin
--posted by Tony Garcia on 6/12/2005Now that the MN GOP Chair and Deputy Chair races are over it is time to keep a vigilent eye on the winners.
My eye on Carey is to make sure he adheres to a bottom-up approach and supports 100% of the endorsed GOP candidates.
My eye on Eric the Crook Hoplin is to make sure he does not do to the MN GOP what he did to the CR National Committee (scandal and financial questions) or to the MN CR (create a continuing line of thugs and liars for leaders).
Dog Park Walker nails down some of the details on the CRNC finances which are out of whack. This should be (but will never be) answered by Eric the Crook and Paul Gourley. Dog Park also gives a pretty good and fair reporting on Eric the Crook's history both with the CRNC and with the MN CR here.
He used the CRNC Open Finances Project as his source and found horrible investment returns for fundraising, very questionable payroll issues which insinuate $1.5 million missing in payroll OR $135,000.00 in overpayment of payroll taxes. The other issue brought up by Dog Park Walker is poor management: 52% spent on overhead. That is incredibly high! Poor management.
Now, Eric the Crook has stated that the fundraising issues of CRNC go well before him, and that may be true. As document laboriously in this post from Left In The Heartland Eric the Crook was elected to lead the CRNC shortly after the CRNC split from the Republican National Committee to become its own group. THAT point would have been a good point to reform the CRNC ways.
Instead one of 2 things happened, the crooked ways of old continued (implying that they were going on through the RNC) or he began the underhanded nature of the current CRNC fundraising (which means he lied during his election bid in MN, Gourley has blatantly lied in his campaign to be CRNC chair, and both should be run out of the party). I personally think that Eric the Crook lied to my face when he claimed he tried to clean things up in 2003. If that were true then why did they continue at higher levels in 2004?
Anyway, the bottom line is this. Those who care about the GOP must keep an ever vigilent eye on Eric the Crook Hoplin...and on the MN GOP books! At the first sign of trouble we would be best to kick his arse out. Treat him the way Ron would treat Martha Roberton: show 'em the door and ask no questions.

I've got Jack Meeks' letter supporting Hoplin. He says that Hoplin is not a crook.
What anyone says is one thing. Any number of people can say Eric The Crook is not a crook. But the long-standing record and overwhelming facts say he is.
We should both work on "The Case Against Eric Hoplin."
That might be a popular little pamphlet...eh?
That could be a regular bit on the show. 'Your honor, I'd like to present exhibit M against Eric the Crook.
I posted Meeks' letter on Lloydletta. I'd be interested in hearing your reaction to it.
