Patriot Act and America to be defeated by Democrats

Cowards are the Democrats. They cannot take a stand for anything and stand behind their stand.

Lying bastards are the media. They report things that exist in their own imagination.

Why should you vote against incumbent Senators ALWAYS...because of the filibuster. If you vote to "extend debate" (as the cowards call the filibuster) then stay and debate. Do not leave, do not recess and do not take up other business. Stay and debate until you vote.

Today (well, techinically it is 5:00 in the morning the day after...so let me start over)...

PATRIOT ACTYesterday the Senate voted on whether to end the filibuster on renewing the Patriot Act which, unless re-approved, will expire on December 31, 2005...yep, less than 2 weeks. That means our country's intelligence gathering abilities will revert back to pre-9/11 levels.

Do you think we're ready for that? I do not think so. And I would like to see actual examples of all the harms the Left claims occurred (not will occur or could occur, but HAVE occurred...as they claim).

But I do think we will continue to lose focus of what our real dangers are. They are two-fold and are working hand-in-hand (co-ordinated? I'm open to that concept). Our nations two enemies are the majority (not all of) the Left and Al-Qaeda (and the rest of the terrorists). Why do I put the Left on the same side as terrorists? Many reasons, but the quickest one to explain is to simply ask you to observe: When any story in the War or Terrorism/in Iraq occurs which side does the Left give the benefit of the doubt? Is it America/the military/the President or is it Terrorist/insurgents/Al-Jazeera/Iran/North Korea/China? Answer: it ain't America that they give the benefit of the doubt to.

It will take another 9/11 to get the rational part of the nation to get focused again. It will take another 9/11 to get the stupid part of the nation to stop being led by the lies of the Left. Watch the Left and see how they make claims like our troops are busting into houses of the innocent in the middle of the night...and never back up their statements. Watch the Sunday morning B.S. shows and do fact checking, you will find that (1) the Left makes (makes up) egregious claims that are easily proven false and (2) the Media give the Left a pass on those claims.
SILVER LINING?I have been saying it for a long time privately (and I am not sure if I have said so publicly...don't feel like going through the radio show archives to find out). We need another 9/11 or we will set this country up to actually lose the whole War on Terror. Deep down I think the leaders of the Left want that so they can fight to be the ones chosen to rebuild the country. They want to be FDR's reincarnate...pulling the nation out of absolute destruction. (Funny, they forget that Reagan, whose hero was FDR, already was the FDR reincarnate...he pulled us out of the fiasco that was Carter's efforts to lose the Cold War, he pulled us out of the disaster that was our 1970's economy...)

The Silver Lining is that when another terrorist attack occurs it will be very easy to pinpoint what allowed it to happen. The policies of the Left will allow it, the rhetoric/deceit of the Left disguise the policies...neither will be allowed to destroy America again for a long time after the second attack. In essence, the silver lining is that there will not be a third attack permitted by the terrorist-sympathizing Left. They will scream and shout that the fault lies with Bush but he cannot pass the Patriot Act, and it is not him that is looking to ban torture (which I think should be allowed but discouraged). They will scream and shout that it was the Republicans and to the degree that they are getting weak-kneed and spineless they will be right. But it is the anti-military, anti-America, anti-security and factless rhetoric of the Left; the anti-Patriot Act, the anti-Gitmo, anti-torture, pro-Iran, pro-Syria and indistinguishable from Al-Qaeda discourse of the Left that will allow the next terrorist attack.

As I said on Andy's blog earlier:

I have been saying privately that we need another 9/11 to get the country focused again. And it will take the Left’s policies to be put into place (through their own stupidity and lies) to make that happen.

With 9/11 it was very difficult to pin the problems on a particular group. All the way back to Reagan we had not paid proper attention to the ills of terrorism.

Since 9/11 it is very clear who is on the side of the Terrorists (Democrats, the Left, MoveOn.org, etc) and who is on the side of self-preservation (the Right).

I hope that I’m not one of the tens of thousands of people that will be killed in the next terrorist attack…I want to be one of the ones that destroys our nation’s true enemies: the Dynamic Duo of Terrorists and Liberals.

The failures of intelligence gathering pre-9/11 were mostly systemic (as Coleen Rowley said BEFORE she became a Democrat hack and candidate).

The Patriot Act, like it or not (and all of the Senators except for Feingold (WI) liked it at some point) fixed those problems. But yesterday the Democrats killed the Patriot Act. Well, that is the reality and that was their goal...but because they have less of a spine than the Republican Senators they claim they are not defeating it...they just want to water it down more and so in the meantime they will let it lapse. Better to have the country at pre-9/11 intelligence than to have the Patriot Act in its already watered-down form according to the words of the Democrats. But their actions are quite clear: fighting terrorism is less important than trying to defeat Bush. Party over Country should become the official mantra of the DNC.

That is the cowardace of the Democrats I speak of in this post.

MEDIA BIASThe media...well, I love how for causes they support (like defeating America) if 5 Republicans side with Democrats then that is bi-partisan. However, if it is something the media does not support then it is "mostly along party lines".

Yesterday's Senate vote is a prime example of that. The AP Story says

A bipartisan group of U.S. senators, demanding increased protection of civil liberties, defied President George W. Bush on Friday and blocked legislation to renew the USA Patriot Act, a centerpiece of his war on terrorism.

On a Senate vote of 52-47, mostly Republican backers of the measure fell eight short of the needed 60 to end debate and move to passage of it.

That "bipartisan group" that "defied" Bush was 42 Democrats and 5 Republicans. Notice also that defeating the Patriot Act is more about defying Bush than protecting the country!

The story continues (with another example of bias):

Proponents of the legislation warned that much of sweeping anti-terror law was to expire at the end of the month, and if it did, the nation could be placed at increased risk.

"We have a clear choice before us today: Do we advance against terrorism to make America safer or do we retreat," Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, a Tennessee Republican, said shortly before the vote.

Kind of makes it sound like Frist voted for the Patriot Act's survival...

...but he was one of the five Republicans to vote for its death by filibuster.

"None of us wants it to expire, and those who threaten to let it expire rather than fix it are playing a dangerous game," said Sen. Patrick Leahy, a Vermont Democrat.

Kind of makes it sound like Leahy would have supported protecting America and thusly voted for the Patriot Act. Don't worry, hell did not freeze over and Leahy did not vote for America. He also voted to kill the Patriot Act by talking it to death.

By the way, there were two Democrats that voted for the Patriot Act. I guess two is not bipartisan but five is.

CROSSING THE AISLEThere were seven Senators that crossed the aisle. The Democrats that voted for America were Tim Johnson of SD and Ben Nelson of NE. The four Republicans that voted against America were Larry Craig of ID, Bill Frist of TN, Chuck Hagel of NE, Lisa Murkowski of AK, and John Sununu of NH.

These do not honestly make "bipartisan" for one side or the other. These are renegades in a party line vote. I do not have a problem with party line votes. I think this one shows something very important. It shows which party values America's survival and which one values the permissiveness to allow our enemies to continue operations.
